On 25 June 2024, the Plenum of the Supreme Court of Russia adopted Resolution No. 19 dedicated to voluntary property insurance.
The Resolution answers the questions:
- what rules apply to voluntary property insurance
- what is recognized as a written form of a contract
- what terms of a contract are given priority in the event of a contradiction
- how to challenge unfair terms of a contract
- on the procedure for determining the insured value
- and other issues
In total, the Resolution contains 128 articles with recommendations for Russian courts on the settlement of insurance disputes.
